Songhai Center / Centre Songhai:

At the end of May we had a chance to take a study visit to the Songhaï Center in Porto Novo, Benin. The center is an NGO about integrated agriculture and is built in the form of a small green city. It was formed 25 years ago and grows many different things to produce everything from raw materials to make a variety of finished products and nothing goes to waste! They use solar and even produce their own biogas to power everything. Definitely a place worth checking out whenever you are in Benin! http://www.songhai.org/

late May, we went on a study trip to Benin to visit the Songhai Centre in Porto Novo. It is a center (NGOs) in agronomy, integrated bio and respectful of its environment, established 25 years ago. This pattern of small green city is primarily a training center by example. We took a lot of information about the farms, bio gas and processed products. They make everything themselves from primary to tertiary. So our ideas beyond ... http://www.songhai.org/

A TOP:

After our visit in Benin we took advantage for a quick study trip in Togo on our way home. We met with Jerome Satro, a guide for the ecotourism association A DE TOP. A DE TOP is an association created for protecting the local environment by promoting the exceptional area around Kpalimé using ecotourism. We had an opportunity to exchange thoughts and ideas about best practices in this sector and learned much about potential difficulties that could be met including financial needs and even moral injustice. If you’d like to learn more or want to explore some of the wonders of Togo check out their site.

Tree of Life / Tree of Life:

It’s almost one year that we learned about the Nigerian way of planting a tree of life for a child that is to be born so that the tree will grow through the years as the child does. At that time friends of ours, Isabelle and Baptiste, had two different sets friends about to give birth so together with we planted a tree for the two children, Maya and Aya in the Escape3points gardens. May the children grow strong and one day even have a chance to see Their Tree of Life!

We have just been informed that we have another chance to plant another Tree of Life for Isabelle and Baptiste as they are expecting! A second symbol of human life will soon grow at Cape Three Points!

almost a year ago, a tree was planted in the garden by Isabelle Escape3points Baptist and for births of Maya and Aya. The tree is doing well and weather resistant. I hope this gesture will bring good luck to both girls.

In our turn to plant a tree for good luck for the future baby Isabelle and Baptist. Thank you for teaching this tradition came from Niger I think. And two threes in Cape Three Points!
